  • Oct. 2023: Dr. Yu Yu Zhang presented at 2023 ITS World Congress held in Suzhou, China from Oct. 16 to 20. The title of her presentation is "Multi-stage Duel-Objective Optimization for Bus Electrifying and Wireless Charging".
  • Oct. 2023: Dr. Yu Yu Zhang presented at International Forum of Green Aviation held in Hefei, China on Oct. 23, during which she introduced the technical challenges of materializing Advanced Air Mobility and corresponding research that USF AAM Research Program has performed.
  • May 2023: Pre-departure Flight Planning to Minimize Operating Cost for Urban Air Mobility, co-authored by Dr. Yu Yu Zhang with Hualong Tang and Joseph Post, is published in Journal of Air Transportation, an AIAA journal, on May 18, 2023. 
  • May 2023: Yu Yu Zhang, PhD, was invited to attend FAA NextGen Technology Interchange Meeting (TIM) (May 2nd to 4th, 2023, Washington DC), where Dr. Zhang delivered a presentation titled "Underused Airport Arrival Capacity due to Convection in Nearby Airspace and Measures for Improvement".  April 2023: On April 28th, 2023, Yu Yu Zhang, Ph.D., was invited to present the latest developments in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) at the MetroPlan Orlando Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSMO) Advisory Committee meeting.

  • Mar. 2023: Yu Zhang, PhD, was invited as a panelist for the NSF AAM Workshop organized by UCF on March 10, 2023. 
  • Mar. 2023: Yu Zhang, PhD, was invited by WSP to serve as a guest speaker for their International Women's Day Celebration on March 8th, 2023.  
  • Feb. 2023: Yu Zhang, Ph.D., was invited by Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce to talk about Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in Leadership Tampa Bay at Tampa International Airport on February 22, 2023.
  • Jan. 2023: Yu Zhang, PhD, is serving as the Chair for TRB Committee on Airfield and Airspace Performance (AV060). This committee was selected as one of the TRB Blue Ribbon Committee Award recipients.
  • Jan. 2023: Joseph Post and Huang Feng attended 2023 AAE/ACC Airport Planning, Design, and Construction Symposium held on March 1-3 in Orange County, CA. Huang presented "Design of the Implementation of Alternative Aircraft Taxiing System (AATS), a Case Study of Tampa International Airport".  
  • Jan. 2023: Dr. Yu Zhang presented "Vision and Challenges of Future Advanced Air Mobility" during ASCE APOC committee annual meeting in conjunction with TRB annual meeting in Jan. 2023.
  • Oct. 2022: Dr. Yu Zhang presented "Automated Pre-Departure Flight Planning for High-Density Advanced Air Mobility" at the 32nd INFORMS Annual Meeting held at Indianapolis on Oct. 17, 2022. 
  • Oct. 2022: Dr. Yu Zhang was invited to give a talk titled "Advanced Air Mobility Research at USF" at the PacTrans Annual Conference held at University of Washington on Oct. 14, 2022.
  • Aug. 2022: Dr. Yu Zhang was invited as a panelist for the conference "Future of Aviation: Advancing Aerial Mobility through Technology, Sustainability, and On-Demand Flight" held on August 3-4, 2022 in San Francisco, CA.
  • Mar. 2022: Dr. Yu Zhang delivered two presentations in 7th UTC Southeast Regional Conference held at Boca Raton on March 24-25, 2022. One is "Automated Flight Planning of  High-density Urban Air Mobility" and the other is "ACES Transportation - From Micro-vehicles Serving Short Trips to eVTOLs Serving Long Trips".

  • Dec. 2021: Dr. Yu Zhang was invited to give a talk on the research of Advanced Air Mobility/Urban Air Mobility at USF in Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) Forum on Urban Air Mobility (UAM) held on Dec. 16 2021. It is part of the 34th US-Korea Conference (UKC) on Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship.

  • May 2021: Congratulate Vahid Mahmoodian successfully defended his PhD dissertation "Theory and Algorithms for Systems Optimization". Vahid is a PhD student co-advised by Dr. Yu Zhang and Dr. Hadi Charkhgard. 
  • Dec. 2020: Natalia Barbour accepted the offer from TU Delft and will join in the Department of Technology, Policy, and Management of the Dutch university in December 2020 as an Assistant Professor. Congratulations!

  • Mar. 2020: Prof. Yu Zhang appears in TRB2020 Highlight "A century of Progress Foundation for the Future". She attended Workshop on Urban Air Mobility during TRB Annual Meeting 2020 and discussed planning and implementation issues of this emerging transportation mode.
  • Jan. 2020: Prof. Yu Zhang is elected as the President of WTS Tampa Bay Chapter and her team starts Jan. 2020.
